garry different tyres front n back
 

im looking at changing the 2 back tyres to conti sport contacts and leaving the 2 front as michelin pilots the garage says no problem ,only a problem with 4 x 4s anybody have a comment on this

This is never a good idea. It will have an adverse effect on handling as the different tires have different characteristics.

Can you do it? Sure.

Should you do it? Not recommended.

While it is not recommended, I don't think it will make that big of a difference for regular daily driving.

I've done it before on numerous occasions, and to be honest, I never really noticed any significant difference for city driving. I've gone through setups with full Pirellis front/rear, Michelins front/rear, Conti's F/R, Nittos F/R, and mixed setups with pirelli front, michelin rear, nitto front, michelin rear, etc... no biggie.

Would it have a big difference on the track, or in the rain? It definitely could, but again, if it's for regular driving, I think you'll be alright.

Currently, I'm gonna try out a full set of HTR-Z III's... If price is an issue and the reason for mixing tires, you might want to check these tires out for a great bang for your buck performance tire...
