Opening Boxster s hood

My battery went dead on my 2001 boxster s. I have been trying to jump the pullout jumper point in the fuse box with no luck. All it is doing is clicking. I have a battery with 12.6 volts of power and I have negative from Battery to door post and the hot from the battery to the pullout hood contact poiunt and all it does is click. Any ideas??

That should have popped open your hood. If not, then go to an autoparts store and buy a battery maintainer that plugs into your cigarette lighter socket to charge the battery. After a couple of hours, you should have enough power to pop open the hood.

Do you have to pull that pull fuse all the way out? Maybe I am not getting good ground. What is the best grounding spot

I don't think you have to pull the fuse out. If I recall correctly, I saw someone use the door latch strike plate as the ground.

Maybe I did not have good enough ground to make good connection

so what did you do different?

A friend of mine had the exact same problem with his 996 recently. The pull out jumper deal just would not work. I popped his hood using the hidden cable under the passenger side head light.
