speedster hump
does anyone know if there are any extra hardware needed for the speeders humps?
also, with the oem part, does it have any porsche symbol or anything on it?
the reason why i ask is bec im contemplating buying a set from a person but they do not know if it has extra hardware that is needed or if its an after market piece.
thank you for the info.

Yes, there is hardware needed not only for the humps, but also what they call "spin locks" that allow them to mount to the car. I know because I got some OEM humps but without any of this hardware and had to come up with something on my own.
The OEM humps are plastic, not fiberglass, so they should be smooth on the inside. Most, if not all, aftermarket humps are fiberglass and are probably really rough on the inside and will show the fiberglass. The OEM humps will also be marked on the inside with a Porsche part number.

All you need are two spinlock and two bolts, if you call Sunset Imports they can get you everything need for a good price. And if you ever get a hardtop you need spinlocks as well.

i have a choice btn one that is not and one that is for about 150$ less for the aftermarket one.

There is a DIY either on this site or RennTech that covers how to install the spinlocks using plastic bags to make sure parts don't fall out until they are tightened.
As far as OEM vs aftermarket there have been some reports of poor fit and shoddy attachment for non-OEM. Not sure if spinlocks even needed for some aftermarket versions.
I'd think OEM would be more value-added. At least resaleable if you sell them separately from your car.

i got my oem humps today. does the factory pouch for it have a porsche sign on it? mine was this foam pouch that was in made condition. the foam particulates and my humps were covered with tiny pieces of the foam every time i pulled it out.
any suggestions of where i can get another pouch for it?

If you bought them new I'd ask seller to replace. If used that sounds like typical foam breaking down. Not sure about replacement, I'm told windstop bag is not available separately.
If not available I'd by some hi-density foam and make my own protective covers - even if not pretty.

I've got a nice, soft microfiber throw blanket that I bought from Wal-mart for $3. I keep that in my trunk if I put the humps on, just so I can wrap them up if I need to take them off. But I don't usually drive around with the humps just sitting in the trunk. I usually put them on for a nice drive, and living in sunny California I've never really needed to take them off during a drive. You just need something to pad them in the trunk to keep them from rubbing against each other and taking off the paint.
I'm not sure what the OEM bags are like as I didn't get any with my humps.
