BK seat lowering brackets mod

So this weekend I got around to lowering my seats with the BK seat lowering brackets that are supposedly specifically designed for my exact seats. It did not go as smoothly as I had hoped. I needed to lower my seats because my head was still too high to pass the broomstick test for DE events.

I followed the meager instructions and removed the side mount brackets that connect to my sliders and replaced them with the shorter BK brackets. But when I tried to replace my seats the holes in the sliders (which were not changed) were not exactly lining up with the holes in the floor. It seemed that the seat slider frame was about 3/8 to 1/2 inch too wide now? WTF???? Why would this happen? Only the seat height changed not its' width? Of course I took them apart and put them back together several times to make sure everthing was put together tight and correctly, but with little change in fit.

The only thing I can think of is that the BK brackets are more straight up and down whereas the stock brackets angle in slightly from the sides of the seat down towards under the seat. But this is supposed to be a perfect no fuss match according to BK. They are in now, but what a PITA!
