Check the rear trunk. You could have blown the coolant tank. Common problem on these cars.

+1 on the coolant tank.

If so, here's the diy from renntech: http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=6675&st=20

Good luck with that! Let us know how it goes!

i will go and check that now and if that is the case is it expensive for parts and what exactly am i looking for funny thing is i live in germany and it cost more to fix a porsche here than in the states wierd since they are made here

k checked that out and it seems fine no coolant anywhere no could this sound like to u a stuck thermostat

My bet is on the water pump, another common problem. Open the access panel behind the seats, a bad pump tends to shread the sep. belt.

actually did that too today and nothing i looked fine smelling alot of antifreeze in there but couldnt see any as it leaking on the ground as for the coolant tank seems fine no leaking at all would like to figure it out befoe i tow it in to get it fixed

also one other side note dont know if it is related sometimes when i used to start it up it sounded like a quick screach sound almost like a loose or tight belt could this be related

Lil bastard 05-04-2008 06:44 AM

Definitely the waterpump - good catch tboyer !!

The screaching you heard is the waterpump bearing going bad. There is a seal on the pulley shaft and when the bearing goes, so does this seal.

Don't drive or run the car - you're not circulating any coolant and you will damage the engine if you do.
