Good luck on the header install.

Here's my write-up (PDF) if you're interested:

(you'll have to register and sign in to see it / download it)

Also, here's a link on the forum when I did my header install a while back:

Hope it helps!

Enjoy!

thisi s the second thread I've read where someone bought the cheap chinese ebay headers, and after going through the hassle of breaking bolts, paying someone to professionally do it, and relocate O2 sensors - the end result was "I dont' think it's any faster".

sounds like big fat waste of $$ to me.

anyone here install cheap chinese headers and think the car was noticeably faster??

I am more interested in sound than I am in the minor (if any) hp gain. The more I read though the more I am inclined to be happy with the sound from the B&B Tri-Flo exhaust and leave the stock headers and secondary cats where they are.

Very interesting that the physical upgrades made the biggest difference (18.3hp), and the ECU flash just added 5HP and 1flb torque. So that answers my question if I should pay 1000$ to flash my car.

$4750 for 25HP. Doesn't seem very cost effective.

I hope Flat 6 Innovations comes up with something more cost effective.

It is worse than that...More than $400 per HP!

At ~3k RPM the gain is 11 HP, which works out to over $400 per HP.

Most engines live at 3k more than they do at 6k.

You want a Boxster with grunt, buy one with a blown engine and ship it to Jake, pay for one of his performance rebuilds and get the added displacement that really helps throughout the entire RPM range. He can get you to over 300HP if your pocketbook is big enough.

You want more sound for cheap, how about doing the Pedro's Sport Exhaust mod link .
