Oil Pan Drain Plug
Please let me know the size of the Allen drive used for the oil pan drain plug.
Thanks |
I found 8mm on a previous post.
|
It's an 8 but it feels like something a tad bigger would fit better. Maybe an English equivalent would fit better.
|
An 8mm allen is what you are supposed to use. But a T50 bit is a better fit.
|
Tool Pants is right. I tried an 8mm allen last night and found that the T50 fits better.
|
Thanks
I have tried both, the T-50 does fit better. Now for oil????I am having trouble finding 5-40 w Mobil one. People are telling me everything from 0-40W Mobil One to Amsoil 0-40 W.
Any recommendations??? |
The standard party line is Mobil One 0W-40, but I have never used it.
http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=9454&hl=unapproved Neat trick on the T50. Don't know anyone who uses it because everyone uses an 8mm allen. Was playing around with a spare drain plug one day and much to my suprise a T50 was a perfect fit. Showed it to the mechanics at the local dealer, as they also use a 8mm allen. Might be a help if the recess for the aluminum drain plug is rounded and an 8mm slips. For those without metric tools a 5/6 inch allen is about as good a fit as 8mm. |
