what do you mean by, "flip the shaft 180 degrees"? When you do the install, put it in backwards? I'm thinking about getting SSK as well. Just wondering what that means.

The piece of metal that has a nut and bolt going through it. Loosen the nut,flip it 180 degrees and the shift kit feels like the $300 Porsche one.
