I do not like Lotus, but if I understand correctlly they have gone to the Toyota Celica GTS motor.

Reliabilty can't be that bad with that type of motor.

Now the rest I cannot speak for...

I don't know if anyone else responded to your statement but yes, the Elisa uses Toyota's 1.8 4-cylinder, exact same as the Celica GTS but with more tuning for slightly more hp & torque.
