can anybody help i dont want to buy a new starter. it works its just really anoying, oh an i dont know why but it only happens when its cold

you probably need to adjust or replace your drive belt. An easy job.
When is the last time you replaced it?

Get the starter rebuilt or remove it and try to lube the bronze bushing in the starter drive.

Starter? Help
 
How you solved problem. Have you changed starter, or is it something else. I do have same problem with my Boxter 02' 94K, I got whining sounds in the morning or after a few 5-6 hrs when I start engine. Sounds stops in next 2 sec but it is very annoying. I am trying to denied fact that is starter but everybody suggest me that could be the main reason for problem, either starter or secondary air pump bearing.
