B-pillar replacement

Hi!

Has anyone done a B-pillar replacement?
Is it a tricky job? Time consuming?

Thanks!

It's an infinitely difficult job...

since a Boxster doesn't have a B-pillar. ;)

Well, Porsche calls the bracket behind the side window “B-pillar” both in the parts catalogue and the service and maintenance manual :p

Interesting... that's not an industry standard use of the term. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pillar_(car)
for the generally accepted explanation.

Having said that, it sounds like you're talking about part of the convertible top bows mechanism, and maybe someone else can chime in on that job.

Is this part broken.

It's part # 8 on the following image. Parts # 10 and # 11 are also bolted on part # 8 and came as one part all together.

But home from work today I crashed my Boxster, destroying the front bumper spoiler, the left side head light, the left fender and the left radiator. So now I guess I got more than the B-pillar to worry about.... :(
