Bought new porsche, 2 problems
I just bought a porsche boxster, and I have two OBD two codes:
P1397 - Camshaft Position Sensor 2 - Signal Implausible, Short to Ground, Short to B+
P0341 - Camshaft Position Sensor 1 - Signal Implausible, Short to Ground, Short to B+
Any idea what could cause this? How hard are they to replace, and can any damage be caused while driving with these codes on?
Thanks for any advance. I have a 99 boxster.

May be a bad sensor, dunno...
Either way, I think one of the sensors (in the front) is not hard to get at, but the one in the rear is (my understanding) very tough to get to. These are not the most fun cars in the work on either. Welcome to the Boxster...aside from the problems they're great!

Conveivably, it could be bad. If the sensor can't tell where the camshaft is in its cycle, it could mis-time, allowing Pistons to hit valves, causing real problems. I wouldn't encourage using the car till diagnosed and repaired.

from what i know, don't drive when the fault lite is flashing. i had an intermittent, 'solid on' cel but i drove for about 2 weeks before i got it fixed w/o a problem.

OH DEFINTELY a Porsche shop rather than a dealer!! It'll save you a TON of $$$
However, I kinda don't think your problem is a sensor rather than something w/the wiring more so. My guess, but def a good place to start if your gonna try tackling it yourself.

I do not have the tools, time, knowledge, or experience to tackle this problem myself. I pulled it into my work's mechanic shop, and they said they dont have the proper tools or knowledge to handle this problem as well. Does anyone have any good experiences with a porsche mechanic around the Cleveland, Ohio area? This is my only driver, and driving it is starting to make me nervous now.
