Soft Top Problems

Q: Does anyone knows how to remove the panel surrounding the radio and buttons. I recently pushed the open/close soft top button into the dash.

Q: My soft top is moving slower and slower. Does anyone know how to service the soft top. Recently my top barely open and closed.

:-D

Do you put the top up and down with the engine on? Your battery could be low.

For the button, the panel there just pulls off. If you can get your fingers under it then you should be able to pull it off. I've seen it recommended to use a dinner knife to pry it free, but I just used my hands to avoid any nicks/scratches. When I did it, I was doing some rewiring and the radio was pulled - which made the panel easier to get to, but I don't believe that is necessary.

I went to my car dealer. The technician found a broken transmission drive, stripped gear plus a snap cable. He (tech & service manager) never seen one break before mine. There were other parts which had to be replaced. I recieved a THREE page print out of what was done to my car...WOW. Everything was covered under warrenty. :-D
