Does the EVO cold air intake,can cause same damage as K&N airfilter?
 

I was thinking of putting a cold air intake, but when I read the K&N filters causes damage , I worried that it might do the same?

I have a k&n in my car never heard of damage what kind of damage

i put one in about 6months ago, and about a week ago, my Maf failed, cost me $400 to replace, :troll: not worth it at all!!!!!!!

Evo intake cause my vehicle to catch on fire and it was declared a total lost NEVER again will I EVER put a CAI on my car, especially on a Porsche!

How could an air intake cause the car to catch on fire?

If you going to put an oil based air filter in make sure you take PERFECT care of it;

-Most are oiled from the Manu., some people over oil it thinking they need to be.

-Don't even attempt to clean/re-oil it,just replace it,too many people over oil them.

Even if it does ruin your MAF,it can be anywhere from $190(97-99' non e-gas) to lower to mid $200s(00'+ e-gas) and 30 minutes of D.I.Y. labor,provided that you can remove the engine access cover.

This has been covered here many times,many of us have replaced our MAF due to aftermarket air filters,me being one.
