P1126 and P1133

Engine check light just came on two days ago. Went to AutoZone and had them reset P1126 and P1133. Drove it for 100 miles and then punched it, and had to light come on again. Seems to struggle @ 3500 and above with hard acceleration. On the way to AutoZone to verfiy if the same P codes were generated. Any ideas???? MAF?

MAF indeed.

Just got back from AutoZone. Once again P1126 and P1133. To clarify, 2.7L 2000 Box with 65K miles. Orignal owner. No other CEL's ever except to replace a defective fuel cap 6 months after I drove it off the dealer's lot.

Is it still the MAF? Any "cleaning" or "tightening" to resolve this or only replacement?

If replacement, any recommendations on where to pick one up and the proceedures involved?

Thanks.

Followed the instructions located in
http://mike.focke.googlepages.com/checkenginelightcausedbymassairflowsensor

Pulled the MAF to computer plug. Replaced engine cover and lowered convertible top. Ran for 10 minutes, up to 6500 RPM in 1st - 4th. (OK only 5500 in 4th). It ran and sounded like my old Box once again, as acceleration was way up and no hesitation noted. Conclusion: MAF dirty or failed. I will clean it first.

It's perplexing that the CEL errors reported low end issues in 1-3 and 4-6. I did not see an issue until I accelerated hard above 3500. I guess Porsche considers 3500 as low end. Hmmmmm.

Was worried that this was going to cost some sizable $$$. I’m relieved that it’s only going to be as little a $25 to clean or as much as $250 to replace. Now I can get rid of my Bah Humbug attitude and enjoy the 4th of July.

Thanks for the help.

Cleaned the MAF with MAF cleaner yesterday and then re-installed. Reset CEL by pulling the negative pole of the battery for 20 seconds. Supposed to take 60 seconds before having to re-enter the Radio code, but it had to be reset too. Drove to work today (50 miles). No problem. 0-60 in a ridiculously low number.

Total cost was under $12 for the T-20 bit from Sears, the MAF cleaner from a local car parts place. Now for the audible sigh of relief. Sssssiiigggghhhhhhhhh
