Stupid LED Craftsman Drop Light
I have a Craftsman Drop Light. 60 LED's bulbs. It is on a cord reel - perfect to mount on the ceiling next to the garage door opener outlet. It quit working a few months ago. I just got around to opening it up to see what may have failed. I found it had a fuse. However the fuse was good. I looked at the LED Board. 60 of them, all hooked in series. Put the voltmeter to them and quickly found that the second bulb in the series was bad.

man I miss sears... tools section... everything organized, cleaned, polished, tagged, paradise.... (none of that here lol)
Gather you fixed your light Don, it's special now ;) |
I do find myself wanting fewer and fewer Craftsman tools. I have resigned myself to salvaging the cord reel component by splicing in a new drop light. The next one will have replaceable bulbs.

So far, 2+ years I am satisfied with 2 different smaller versions of what the OP has.
Definetly miss Sears & Roebuck from the days when both my Father & Father in law worked there! |
I had a cordless craftsman LED light that one of the kids gave me for Christmas. It had a bright mode and a less bright, energy saver mode.
Darn this always seemed to switch modes on its own right in the middle of working on something. Drove me crazy! Since it was a gift, I kept it way longer than I should have. Finally gave up on it and tossed it one day. No more for me. |
