That reminds me of an episode of Dr. Who in which he encounters the abandoned clockwork based advanced space travel/artificial intelligence technology of an extinct race of people.

I find the idea of advanced technology based on principles other than electronics extremely fascinating :cool:

The mechanics are absolutely wonderful. But the kid writing is kind of creepy.
