If it weren't for my job, I'd be out of here in a heartbeat. Aside from the rain and infrastructure issues, I can't stand how people drive here.

While the landscape and surrounding region is beyond words, the sheer volume of people is overwhelming and traffic is horrendous...it is one of those places that is great to visit but not to live in.

I'll take my side of Washington with the roads and open vistas any day!

My sympathies. I ride the bus now to avoid the high blood pressure.

As H.L. Mencken said, "No one ever went broke underestimating the taste of the American public."

Yes, the traffic is horrible. There are too many people. The drivers are terrible. It rains all the time. Everyone should stay away! Go to California.

...and then some. Oregon roads make places like Tail of the Dragon look like childs play. You should come over sometime and show you the roads. But if you don't get the chance, here is a link that should make you drool:

That's a cool site. That area really reminds me of the roads through northern Colorado outside of Fort Collins. I lived there for over 10 years and loved every minute of it.

Yes, come to California. There is no traffic, there are hardly any people, the drivers are great and courteous, and the sun shines every day. Everyone come to California and don't forget to bring all of your money so we can tax the heck out-of-you and get out of debt.

I like Olympia, I try and stay away from Seattle/Tacoma if I can help it! I definetely stay away from Bellevue, the 405 is like a parking lot through there 24/7.

my wife and I always comment on the drivers here (we are both from SoCal) we call it "Washington driving" they area always off in la-la land driving below the speed limit in the fast lane, etc

...and if they are not in lala land, they are playing road cops trying to either slow you down, keep you from passing or for that matter from doing anything that lets you get around and or in front of them.
