New '00 owner
 

Hey all! I got my second Porsche, a 2000 986 2.7 w/ sport package and full leather about a year and a half ago and had some technical problems joining the forum (thanks to Pelican Parts for helping me), but I'm now excited to be here! This car was cheap on craigslist, but seems to have been stored indoors since new, and has a new IMS bearing. The clutch went out shortly after I bought it, but I put in a new clutch and flywheel from Pelican and it drives awesome now.

I am impressed by how the 986 feels so much like my first Porsche (a '74 914 when I was a teenager), while also seeming a lot more refined and modern.

I take my 5 year old son to school daily in this car, and we're having a lot of fun with it.
