Thank you for the forum
New to the Boxster team I am certainly glad there is the forum to fall back on. I am the new care taker of a zanzibar red 2001 Boxster. They are certainly a different breed. I have had mine for 2 weeks now & 2day I put the key in the ignition & it wouldn't turn. Called the closest Porsche dealer (75 mi. away) They said for me to have it towed into their shop. Wouldn't help me a bit! Turned to my trusty 986 Forum & found a post that said to jiggle the steering wheel & telescope in & out a couple of time & low & behold the ignition turned & I was on my way. Thanks to all that participate in this forum. This is simply the best!

Welcome! Good luck with your new car. I've had mine for about a year now, and gained so much help from this forum. (Thank you everyone)
Stuck switch is the start of possible switch failure. Do some research on it and try and park your car with the wheels straight. If it is hard to turn even with the front wheels straight and no load on the steering lock mechanism...Switch is going. Common problem. Change the oil and drive that thing! |
Thanks Phat Hippy, I shall
