New owner in San Jose, CA
I just bought a 2001 Base with 130K miles as a "project". It was cheap enough, clean title, engine runs great, transmission shifts through all gears with no difficulty or pops. Even better is the VIN is just prior to the single row IMS bearings. My goal is to teach my kids (10 and 12) how to work on cars with something fun that we can go drive on the weekends. Really excited to be here and learn about these cars. I've been a mechanic for nearly 20 years, but never worked on European cars. I'd love to meet up with other owners in the Bay Area so let me know if there are groups or meet ups or anything.
