Consensus don't buy this one. The mechanic did not indicate any issue with cylinder walls but I did not ask about scope. But if there was metal present this close after oil change it would seem it is pretty well past it. Also it makes me wonder if dealer was perhaps aware of this issue since he changed the oil, he was aware of IMS issue in Boxsters because he told me he had done update on others. :matchup:

Oh yea, keep looking. There are lots of them out there. Patience is the key to finding a good one. It took several months of active looking to find mine and I was willing to buy out of state so I cast a wide net. Keep an eye on the classifieds here on 986, CL, Excellence magazine, your local PCA classifieds, talk to Porsche mechanics(they may know of one for sale), AutoTrader, cars.com, and sometimes even ebay. You will know when you find the "right" one. Good luck:cheers:
