Servicing schedule - Boxster Newbie
Just bought an 04 Boxster with 66km last service was a "big one with plugs" at 55km - when is the next one due ?? Or would it be wise to do an "oil change" service now anyway?
Any helpful advice much appreciated ..... |
Really depends what was already done. Need more info.
If it was me, I would "ZERO" out the maintenance unless I knew for sure it was done already. Things like: oil change and filter cabin filter engine filter fuel filter (not sure if you have one) brake fluid Then start to consider things like: water pump thermostat serpt. belt coolant flush manual trans gear oil |
According to Porsche...

Many Boxster owners would suggest that you change the oil more frequently than Porsche recommends. I change my oil every 5000 miles or at least once per year.

I think I am going to do the clutch/differential/manual/brake fluids/grease immediately as the dealership won't give me the service history to protect the privacy of the previous owner. I already have some of the dealer printouts with the previous owner's name and I'm not asking for the previous owner's info, just a list of service performed so I know what has already been done. I was told a water pump was done right before I bought it, but I have no idea if that is accurate or not. Cheers, Reiver |
