noob w/996

I recently purchased a '99 996C2 for a DD. My plans are to swap the M96 to an LSx. I'm going for reliability and 996T power for a fraction of the cost.

My 'other' car is a '03 Murcielago which I converted to RWD and have done some power mods.

Anyways, the 986 and 996 have so much in common, I will be around here for tech.

If you have Murcielago money why don't you just buy a 996t?
Anyways. Nice cars!

Don't need a TT for DD. Although I do love widebody 996s.

How do you like the change to RWD on the Murcielago? I have heard of several other folks doing this but have not seen follow up to performance aspects.

Oh, yeah...gotta say the wide bodies are gorgeous!

I love the change. It makes the car completely different, in a good way.

Faster, better mpg, double clutch life, oversteer, can launch the car without fear of killing clutch, drop 175lbs from the car, easier to drive from a stop, easier to drive at low speeds, easier to turn.

I really like hearing about folks who are willing to think outside the box and play with their cars for themselves, not for what a resale number may or may not hold!

Thanks for the input on the mods!

I wanna ride! I got to drive a gallardo but never a Murci!

I am an advocate for working on your own car. I made a blog for Lambo owners to do some basic repairs and modifications themselves:

Oh, and I drive my car. It's about to hit 31k miles, which most Murci's have not seen.

They are completely different than the Gallardo, much less comfortable.
