It was a success!

Kudos to Charlie!! for all the work he did on so many cars and so many windows!!

Kudos to William for the awesome sweet treats from Henry's, I only wished I had sneaked an extra piece for later, but I'm sure his family was glad we left them dessert :)

The detailing day was a great success!

Hopefully, today pumped everyone up for the first group drive of the season.

-Washed with P21S shampoo
-Clayed
-Polished with P21S Paintwork Cleanser
-1 layer Klasse All-in-One
-2 layers Klasse Sealant Gloss
-for the hood test, topped with Pinnacle Souveran Paste wax (passenger side) and Menzerna PO-73 (driver side)

survey says for the feel test: the Menserna feels slicker, but only time will tell which one has better lasting power.

and the final 2 went out for a short little drive on some winding and sometimes very narrow backroads.

And where was I? Tagging along in a gleaming Carbon Black M3 :)

jtai21 05-10-2003 06:11 PM

and this is what I tagged along in to take pix :)
Too bad I wasn't thinking when I took the picture....didn't think about the trunk being open

Awesome!

Many thanks to Rey & Juliette for hosting this event! It was better than I imagined, with perfect weather to boot. Here are a couple pictures of mine...

Thanks to Rey & Juliette! Nice to see everyone and meet some new folks... including at least one other Zaino fan!

Looking forward to the next event...

Thank you all!!

Thanks to Rey, and Juliette for hosting such an awesome event. As a Porsche newbie I was made to feel right at home and very welcome by everyone who was there! Rey and Charlie, my Boxster has never looked so good, well, with the exceptions of the sun visors! <lol> Thank you both very much!!

Speaking of the visors, Rey, cancel the order for the new ones. I think I’ve got something figured out and if it works, I’m going to have the smoothest visors around.

Juliette, I’ll shoot you the contact info on the door sills, this evening.

Thanks again!!

Matt

another shiney boxster

William's shiney boxster....the only thing that might make it better is if the desserts were lined up around the car :D

Matt - you'll have to send in pix of your visors after you've fixed them up.

I'm a new Boxster owner and am curious as to what you all recommend for car wash, wax, wheel cleaner, etc. I've read so many different things. My car is black is that makes any difference. Thanks and I hope to take part in some of your events in the near future.

ReyF 05-26-2003 07:06 AM

Hey dionnec123,

I'm sure the others will chime in but you certainly picked a challenging color to keep looking good. I've got 2 black cars so I'm also a glutton. Several of us use the P21S body wash and wheel cleaners. There's 2 flavors of the the wheel cleaner - gel and spray. Gel is only for very dirty wheels. I think the main thing to do with wheels is to pull them from the car and clean them very well (with get if necessary). Then wax them. This will make them much easier to keep clen in the future. Weve tried a lot of waxes in this group. Depending on the condition of the surface you might want to clay the car. Then use a a paintwork cleansing lotion/polish like Pinnacle, Griots or P21S. Follow this up with a quality wax like Pinnacle Souveran, Collanite or Blitz. Charlie used the Klasse products on a black car during our detailing meet and it was spectacular as you can see from the pictures.

A lot of these products can be had here:

Hope you can join us for some drives!
