Angry TAXachusetts strikes again!! Appalling!

Ok, agreed, we got a great deal on the yet to be received S....making the deal was the easy part, and even getting Porsche Financial to agree on letting us out of our buyout was easy.

Getting the check back from Porsche Financial took longer than expected. The bank is taking their sweet old time in clearing the money so that we can complete our transaction.

But the worst!!! was going to the insurance company to start the paperwork for registering the car. Not only do I have to get the car re-inspected (apparently the inspection follows the plate!), but they charged us sales tax on the NADA value of the car, which was much higher than the price we actually paid!

The whole concept is a major RIPOFF -- it's amazing....they can get away with such highway robbery, literally!

Sorry for the rant.....but any of you out there in MA who plan on buying used in the private market, just be aware you'll get taxed just the same!

I have no idea how people can stand to live in a socialist country like MA. Goes against just about every principle that america was founded on. And, unfortunately, the federal gov't is moving in the same direction... it is sickening.

Angry From those with the means to those with the needs!

And some pigs are more equal than other pigs. Quit ********************ing, the people's republic still allows you foolish capitalists to own your private cars, when the people's republic should require all to take the MBTA. Just look at the people's paradise of Cuba where 1950's chevrolets are the latest the motoring excellence.

It is funny how MA deals with this stuff - had you gone to a dealer and traded in one car on the other, then you'd have only been taxed on the difference (and from the *actual* sale price, not NADA, to boot)... but buy/sell through private parties, and...

Well I'm going at lunchtime to consumate the deal. Even with the little tax surprise we got a sweet deal. What really irks me about this is that the Registry clearly states on their website that they will tax either the agreed upon sale amount or the NADA trade-in value of the car. The NADA trade in value of the car is 9k higher than what we paid for the car!! When the guy we bought the car from was shopping his car around to dealers they wouldn't even give him what we privately settled on. I'm REALLY having problems with paying the taxes on an amount that is bulls^*t....

Talking What a deal!

$9,000 below NADA? Some people have all the luck! Enjoy the new purchase.
