Vermont Trip Pictures

Hi Folks,

Here's the one shot we took yesterday - apparently, we were too engrossed in the driving to take more ;) . Hope to see some other photos posted soon!

That run up Equinox mountain was pretty thrilling -- yeeehah!

Charlie, thanks for all your efforts to set the trip up - we had a great time. Well done!

It was a real thrill! The trip made for a long, long day, but it was very rewarding. Thanks for coming out, everyone!

Lunch at the Equinox...and more (actually I missed my table)

Not a bad view from our table, but here you can see it wasn't much of a "foliage" run...the leaves are about a week later than normal because of the warm autumn.

Lined up and ready for a breathtaking ride up the privately owned (no speed limits!) Equinox Mountain toll road...

A few of us shown here parked at the top (where's that windbreaker I forgot to bring!)

CharlesGordon 10-06-2002 11:54 AM

Awesome view from the top!

Another one...

Top of the toll road, looking down. Beautifully graded, banked switchbacks, fun to break the tires loose exiting the corners :D

Shameless vanity shot ;)

But all things come to an end...in this case a very long ride home--especially for our dedicated NY folks! This was our last pit stop as a group.

Great pics & a great drive :D !

Charlie, thanks for coordinating the event.

Enjoyed meeting the GBBG - when you want to do a Long Island run we'll set up the details .

Regards,

Thanks Charlie!

Good run. I'm kind of wishing that I had blasted up and down the Equinox mountain road a couple of times from the midpoint or lower. Don't get to drive something like that too often.

Thanks to you and Michael for putting together the logistics!

Nice to meet a few new faces as well.

Thanks Rey,

Sorry you guys got caught up in the confusion (twice!) in the back of the pack through the Manchester traffic and again at the top of the mountain. Hopefully we'll devise a better strategy for the huge-sized group we had!

Credit goes to Michael Russell for the awesome tip of Mt Equinox.

The Equinox mountain run

For those of you that want a little more info on the mountain run....5.2 miles, 3248 feet vertical gain, 41 turns of which 20 are hairpins.
