Help converting Halogen to Xenon Headlights
I purchased a set of 2002 Boxster S Xenon headlights. The headlights have two connectors, the normal one and one that looks like it connects to the ballasts. I believe the extra connector is for the leveling and self adjusting. I would like to still have this feature. Would anyone be able to send me a schematic of the how the wires are connected and which wire does which part?

I'm not much help on that subject but heard/read a few times that you need to source a litronic retrofit kit if your car didn't come with factory litronics. Wouldn't be surprised these kits are rare or need ordering. Kits includes a harness for both headlight and a control module (bosch mgf). There are also sensors that are mounted onto the suspension giving you the full features of the factory installed litronic. Not sure if the sensors are mandatory... think not but not 100% sure.
Again I could be wrong but the harness and control module kit only provides some leveling features, at some extent e.g the high beams won't be as effective as if you'd be doing the complete factory-style set-up e.g. sensors installation, control module and harness setup (lots of work, and costly). Surely some others who've done a proper litronic conversion will chime in and help you out with this |
found P/N: 000 044 900 38 as being the original retrofit kit for 996s. Should be the same for the Boxster but confirm with your supplier before.
You need to make mods to the DME also, wiring the thing to ECU, etc. Not for the hobbyist ;) Luck mate |
If it were me
I would just install them and aim them......
