Caliper Decals And faded paint

My S Calipers are dull and faded, all the clear coat is gone. I was thinking about spraying them red with Caliper paint (after surface prep of course). I Was curious if you used the eBay decals or what ?

Also do you apply the decals and then a few coats of clear coat ?? I cant see a caliper decal lasting long in that environment.

I have some wheel clear coat...or is there a high temp type for calipers ??

Thanks in advance

Dwight

Dwight, I did this about a year and a half ago and they still look perfect. I followed this thread:

I used VHT Caliper paint and clear coat.

I did not remove my calipers, just the pads. I bought the decals from eBay and used 3 coats of clear coat. Very easy to do and makes a huge difference!

Here is another thread with tips:

Brake Line Cap

Is there such a thing as a brake line cap or something to stop the fluid from gravity draining ?

It's common to lightly clamp on a small vise grip around the flex hose. You can wrap the hose with a piece of cloth first in order to protect it. It may be wiser yet to replace the (10-14 yr. old) flex line with OEM or Stainless lines after the painting is finished as they're probably original to the car.

Cap Block

It looks like someone would make a cap block with female threads so you could just cover the end. On older non ABS systems it was irevelant as bleeding was such a cinch....I worry about the ABS pump getting air in it in the event of a total drain of the system.
