How to attach the Boxster badge?
It is probably one of the most difficult questions to answer (hope not ):
How to attach a hard plastic (no original adhesive anymore) Boxster badge on the soft "plastic" dash underground? I am sure there most be a special adhesive/glue for that, or maybe not? That is the task (see below): http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1400414198.jpg Thanks for any hints in advance. |
I would suggest a good contact adhesive, slow curing and apply with a small paint brush, or, a good spray carpet adhesive.......??

Make sure the adhesive does not lose it's properties in high heat. A car sitting out in the sun can really test an adhesive. You don't want to find the Boxster emblem resting on the spoiler after a day in the sun.

Thank you guys, so far!
I am going to try the 3M™ VHB™ Tape 4941 Flexibility of Materials: One Substrate Flexible, Both Substrates Flexible, Both Substrates Rigid Tape Thickness 0.040 in (1.0mm) - 0.045 in (1.1mm) Temperature Resistance - Initial 300 Degree Fahrenheit Temperature Resistance - Long Term 200 Degree Fahrenheit If that is not going to work, nothing will ;) Maybe I have to concider pinning the emblem on there, somehow :D |
Got the 3M VHB tape: Testphase started
...did not come off so far (24h) ...not even after a hot, sunny afternoon & full sun on it http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1401467660.jpg |
