Fitting DRL's to a Boxster
Hello, can anyone tell me an easy way to fit and wire up a set of daylight running lights to the front of a 2004 Boxster. I'm no expert at this kind of thing so I would ideally like a simple install option if possible.
Many thanks Craig. |
I have heard the you run the power wire to the wiper motor.

I would guess A dealer could program the car to turn them on automatically

The pedros garage sells a kit and has instructions.

How about a single wire for simplicity?
I drove myself crazy trying to find DRLs that I liked, and then trying to find a good-looking place to mount them, and gave up.
Instead, following directions found on this forum, I simply jumped fuse A6 and A9, which makes my headlights come on with the ignition. Since I have Litronics, I don't worry about burning through headlight bulbs frequently. A word of caution: IIRC, I had to upgrade the fuses to 30A. This may have been because I have Litronics, though. I'm very happy with the setup, and I don't have to remember to turn my lights on when I enter a parking garage! |
You can also rig the fuse box so that the fog lights operate as running lights, but change out the bulbs to LEDs or you run the risk of burning the headlight housings if you have halogen (h7) bulbs.
