http://i.auto-bild.de/ir_img/2/0/8/0...3799470e57.jpg
do any of you guys have the 04 boxster anniversary edition? im looking to powdercoat my carrera rims like the one above. but a need a better close up picture of the carrera rims with the gun metal grey wheels. i cant seem to figure out if its only the spokes that are gun metal or also a little bit of the inside lip of the wheel. can anyone help? TIA! |
I always believed it was the whole wheel (spokes and rims) - and the colour was 'Seal Grey'
|
Only the spokes are grey. Google images!

Wow that is nice. I always have seen powder coating done as matte black or such. I had no idea one could do gloss or overcoats etc... .

Here is another photo that seems to support your thoughts. http://asset6.asiaclassified.com/ima...3132611752.jpg |
Nice car!

This is a mod I have thought of doing to my Carrera S wheels. I appreciate trail blazers like you. Keep us posted and good luck.

Be sure to make sure it's not just a trick of the light or shadows!
I don't know for sure, but i do know powder coating as i have had the last three cars i own powder coated - including my Daily Driver - and what i do know is that it would be very hard if not impossible to execute that pattern. It's kind of all or nothing. If it is indeed as the picture suggests i would be inclinded to say that the wheel what painted, then cut back and lacquered not powder coated? |
wow thanks, for all the new photos. now to figure out what those two colors are.
|
Hmmm the center caps with the porsche decal would seem to be a bit of a problem
