CEL Codes....been going on for awhile
SO i have had 5 different codes come on for my CEL. I rent to autozone to get a code reader to figure out what they are, and turn it off.
The 2 biggest occurring ones are the P1123 and the P1125 These happen quite frequently and ive just turned them off. The next one doesn't occur that often but has occurred more than a few times. Its the P0134. The two other codes have only ever appeared one time each P0410 and P1411 At some point i took it to the Porsche dealer, and they said i needed to replace the Oil Fill Tube. How does this sound to any of ya'll? Thanks, I have read posts on these codes before, and the MAF cleaning, but i wanted to post my particular issue, maybe the combo of these means something different. |

Possible intake air leak (oil filler tube) Possible SAI issue Possible failed MAF Good to get these sorted out. Driving around with these issues can cause long term damage to your motor and cats. |
The P0410 and P1411 codes only appeared once, and i turned them off about a year ago and have not come back. Should i still worry about them?
I read the renntech post, and it looks/seems pretty complicated and might be out of my realm :( |

Well that makes sense, if i turn them off, and they don't come back, the problem either got resolved, or was something that was not actually an issue?
Thanks for the clarification. What does DME stand for? So as of recently i only have the p1123 and p1125 and p0134 codes. What specifically should i do in relation to these? Clean my MAF? |
Unplug the MAF sensor wire harness. If the car runs better, replace the MAF. Cleaning it is useful if it just got contaminated during a AF replacement but it is still relatively new. If your MAF has more than 30K on it, replace it.
|
So you are suggesting i drive around with the MAF unplugged, at least for a little bit? Who sells MAF's at a good price?
|
Also, are there any companys that sell performance MAF's?
I dont knwo if these even exist, but |
Given the codes that are coming up, it wouldn't make sense that it's your MAF sensor . However, if your convinced that it is, you should read this thread .

Hmm, so what should i do to cure the p1123 and the p1125
I guess i am getting different information from different people :( And thanks for the link, it is quite informative and seems like quite a good deal. Great looking yellow boxster by the way |
Followed your instructions, cleaned the MAF REALLY well. It was dirty on some of the connections. Reinstalled. So far no CEL's yet.
Very excited, can already tell a difference in idle, and when i turn the A/C on and pull away from stoplights. Had fun getting into the engine compartment and putting it back together as well! Very well designed Cars for sure :) Thanks guys, lets hope it stays off! |

Did you say you rented a code reader from Autozone? Didnt know you could rent them if this is the case. I think I am having the same MAF problem as you. Thanks |
