Front bumper-replace or repair Someone backed into the front bumper of my boxster- it isn't cracked but creased slightly and gel coat cracked... can you sand this down and do a basic fiberglass repair and repaint or does it need to be replaced? Thoughts & Opinoins... |

Gel coat, fiberglass ? Is this an aftermarket bumper or oem ? The oem is made out of polyurethane . Therefore, there's no fiberglass or gel coating involved . |

too bad - fiberglass is an easy repair..Im guessing poly not so much?? |

Please post an update on your repair as you move forward. My front bumper cover has a raised gouge. I bought a little kit at the O'Reily's for less than $10 that's designed to repair plastic bumpers. I also got some adhesion promoter for the paint but I haven't actually gotten around to removing the bumper cover yet. I did buy a aerosol can of custom color matched paint. |

I have a spare front bumper cover for an 03-04. I was going to put it on my 99 but I'm not so sure I want to move forward with this. I would let it go for $750 plus shipping. That is my bottom line no-dicker price. It's silver, is complete with grill inserts and tow hook plug, and, except for a few scratches on the underside, it is in nice shape. |
