Coolant tank hoses

To get the hoses loose from the engine compartment, you need to pull on them a little, and then slide the clamp upward so you can see it. I did my tank from the trunk. It wasn't easy and I had a friend help (you defenetly need someone to help). It took us 2 hours flat to get the new tank in there. So far it's worked great.

You can get some additional access, which will allow you at least to see what you are doing a little better, by pushing in the large rubber plug which encases the wire bundle from the DME. Once you push the plug forward, only the circumference of the wire bundle will be in the way, but you can get your hand in there or see what's going on through the large hole.

Regards, Maurice.

Cool I tried!

Well, after bloody knuckles and a broken plastic nipple along with the oil filler tube... The car goes to the mech in a week. I got the tank out but it has just turned into too much. Oh well. At least they are going to do it for around 300 with peace of mind and a flush and refill with the Porsche coolant. Too bad someone hasn't used ( that I k ow of) metal braided lines for the oil filler and other coolant hoses.
