headlight/taillight tinting

Anyone have any advice on tinting the headlights and taillights to a dark smoke?
I want headlights to be smoked with exception of where main beams are. I've seen films listed on Ebay, but didn't know how well they work. Any advice would be great.

Like these????

I painted the rears with a black paint that allows the light to shine through and then clearcoated them.

The fronts are tint from stickercity.com with the center cut out.

I have removed the black taillights ones in the pictures because a brighter but "safe" brake light I installed melted them. Since then I have installed a set of LED lights with the intent of tinting them with a lighter tint than on my headlights.

One of my employees tinted his tails with the same tint % I used on my headlights and they look fine, he has had them on there for over a year with no issues.

Thanks for your reply. Your car is beautiful! Yes, that is exactly what I want for my lights. Are your headlights 20% ? Do you think it would be noticeable enough if i went with 20 o headlights and 35 on tails?

If you go to stickercity.com they have the light and dark my headlights are dark. The tint they send is not the same tint that you would use on your windows so be sure you get tint made for the headlights.

Gary your car looks great with that tint but I don't know how it would look on a non black car, its almost like it would be too much tint area and would stick out from the rest of the car maybe...

I agree, I would only do this to black cars. It looks great because it makes car look so sleek. On others it may break it up too much.

I've seen parts of the taillights tinted on other colors and they look pretty good. Normally its only the clear part that I've seen tinted on the colors.
