03 Street legal race car
I have decide that I want to move up to a C4S or a turbo So I have decided to sell my 2003 Boxster. It has a 3.4 Carrera motor. I felt that the 2.7 was a bit underpowered for this car so when a 3.4 litter came up I decided to go for the swap. Steinel's in Twinsburg, OH did the swap and they did a stellar job. The car has no mechanical issues and has been maintained to the highest standards the entire time I have owned it. There is only one issue with the car and it really isn't an issue unless you are in CA or someplace that has really strict emmissions. There is a constant check engine light due to the '01 911 motor in an '03 Boxster. The '03 DME looks for 43 adjustments vari-cam and the '01 motor has less than that, 21 I think I was told. It does not affect the drivability or power at all. This car has gobs of power. The vario cam simply goes to the next closest degree and throws a light. The car does pass Ohio E-Check whenever I need plates. I explain the new motor to them, show them the receipts, they throw it on the emissions tester and it always passes. You should check with your DMV to make sure this setup will be OK in your locale.
This car drives and handles like a beast on the track and is very nice and respectable around town with the street tires, brakes and leather seats. Appr. 300 HP at the crank. All repair/maintenance receipts since my purchase of the car in '06. I am the 2nd owner. I've got a ton of $$$$$ in this and I know I won't get it all back. I am asking $26K and with all the extras that come with this car I think it is a very good price. I am open to reasonable offers. Reasonable being the key word here.
