01 Base Tip, Seal Gray/Gray, Needs Tranny Repair, in Eastern NC

107K, decent shape other than tranny. Diagnosis is bad pump; could be an easy fix ($50 for pump gear + labor), but i haven't found anyone willing to tackle it yet. If an entire tranny is needed, I understand used ones can be found for < $1,000, and about that for labor to replace. KBB private party fair condition is $6,100. Will let it go as-is for $4,500 or best reasonable offer.

I bought in 2011; has been my daily driver; engine running fine. Some options:

Sport pkg and Sport Design pkg
Aftermarket top (red) w/glass
VIN does not fall within the class-action list range for IMS issue

Maintenance kept up - have spent about $5K in 3 years on the typical issues (tires, brakes, CV joints/axle, AOS, MAF, water pump, service, etc). Replcd rear tires and a wheel bearing this year.

PM me for more info / pics.

Update - I found a good used transmission and a shop to do the repair/replacement. Will proceed with this soon, but sale is still on the table in the mean time.

Good luck. Hopefully it does not cost you too much and that it a good used transmission.

Thanks for the well wishes. It's been trailered to the trans shop; I got the gasket/filter kit from Pelican, and 10 liters of Pentosin fluid. Fingers crossed now.

I've been unable to get a reasonable price for transmission repair :(. This car is available now as-is; soliciting offers.

I am in the Raleigh area, but grew up and went to college in the New Bern/Greenville area. What area of downeast is the car?

Fayetteville.

Let me add it's currently sitting at a transmission shop, with a quote of $4,900 parts & labor to put in a good used (40K miles) tranny. That's high I know, should be negotiable. This shop is experienced with Porsche, and would warrant the work. If someone wanted to buy it from me and let them fix it, the total would end up near Blue Book Private Party Good condition.

What is it (fair offer) that you are currently looking for for the car? I'm in FL but may be interested in coming to pick it up. Cash in hand of course.
