I've been trying to sell this car since January and I've gotten little to no response.
In anyone's opinion, is there something I should be doing differently? It's been posted on autotrader.com/cars.com/ebay....I'm surprised I've had so little interest in it. I don't think my price is too high  |
When I purchased my Boxster back in November I had to sell my beloved '99 Mustang convertible. I listed it on a couple of websites and got very little action. I ended up putting signs on it and parked it each day at a busy local grocery store lot. Sold on the third day. Now I know this place was safe and very close to home, might be difficult in CA. It just seemed the internet was inneffective and the exposure in person seemed to help. Heck if you were closer I'd take a look at your car! Good luck..seems like a good deal based on your description.

You should head out to the PCA Zone 8 Speedfest this weekend and post a "FOR SALE" sign on it. I'm sure it will sell pretty quickly. The fest is in Fontana at the California Speedway.

To check on your price, simply compare you car to comparable Boxs on Auto Trader.
All sports cars are dead right now. I would not despair just yet. Good luck Quote:

Thanks for the replies.
I can't make it to Fontana this weekend, but I like the idea. I'll keep an eye out for other events. Thanks! |

I would also try the PCA events: www.pca.org KRZ |

Not sure if you've tried this one, but I've always had success with www.craigslist.com. I sold my BMW this year courtesy of craigslist.com. In fact, if the price is right, I'm sure you'll have a large number of hits. I got like 25 emails in the first day. Just don't post your phone number. Although that's what most people will ask you for in their messages. Post a pic, too. Posted the BMW on a Thursday, sold it that Friday. The guy was even nice enough to buy my motorcycle too. And he paid cash.
P.S., people are shady, no matter what method of advertising/sale your choose. Auto Selling 101: Don't meet anyone at your house. I've run across some sketchy characters in my autoselling days. The last thing you want is some creep, whom you've just given an all access vehicle tour, to steal your ride while you're sleeping. |
Where are you located?
