2006 Porsche Cayman S
Nicely optioned Cayman S is ready to head to a new home. Mods for aggressive driving or DE events installed. I have owned nine Porsches and this has been my favorite. Hate to see it go, but two boys in college tend to make one rearrange financial priorities. You can contact me directly at pcarfan@gmail.com if you are interested in this great car. $27,500 68K Miles New motor installed by Porsche at 42K miles New Michelin Super Sport tires with road hazard warranty (maybe 2K miles on them) from Discount Tire Arctic Silver exterior Special Terracotta Red interior Full leather interior Sport Seats Sports Steering wheel Auto Climate Control Navigation with Porsche Communications Management (PCM) Porsche Active Stability Management (PASM) Sport Chrono Bose Sound system with subwoofer Litronic / Xexon headlights Headlight washers 4.5mm spacers Mods: Stainless Steel Brake lines Grills for radiator and intake openings Desnorkled BMC Airfilter Mantis Sports Under Drive pulley Mantis Sports One piece deep oil sump with windage tray Updated oil swirlpots / oil returns Canton 2QT Accusump with on/off switch mounted in interior Rennline front camber plates Aggressive street alignment from Boardwalk Porsche Custom installed hidden trailer hitch with 4 pin plug (utility Track gear trailer NOT included) Phantom power wiring harness for a utility trailer Update: 3-15-13 PPI said I needed to do the following - so I did them! 1. Bump - New Price!

New update
I was able to procure full records from owner #2 and partial records from owner #1.
A lot of questions about the engine failure, turns out it was a loose rod bolt on the #6 cylinder, this caused the piston to crack, which in turn damaged the block. It was not an IMS failure! |
Hang in there, Rob. Sports car season is dawning. People are getting their tax returns back. Minds are turning to fun cars. Someone will bite. Your price is right and you have great options and colors.
Have you tried AutoTrader? I've sold two cars, including my Cayman S, via AT. Both were sold locally, but I got results. I've also had good luck with Cragslist, as long as you can weed thru the spammers. |
Bump new price - $27,500 obo
Momma says sell it>

Rob, You didn't answer my question about where you're advertising it. I got 2200+ hits on my ad here, 140 on P-9, and 500 on quatrroworld but no one reached for their wallet. I've had extremely good luck with AutoTrader and CL and have sold 4 sports cars (2 Caymans and 2 Audi TTs) using them over the last 3 yrs. Throw it out there for $28.5 and see what happens. Your price is fine, you just need to get it in front of an audience ready to buy. CL is free, so you've got nothing to lose. |
Husker,
You are right! AT and CL are next on my hit list. I really wanted to try to sell it into the Porsche enthusiast community first. They (hopefully) appreciate the mods I have done to it. A casual looker on AT or CL might not. However I have a couple of intersted buyers and hopefully a deal will be struck with one of them after I get a PPI done. Thanks! |
Lovely car...but not sure about the trailer hitch !!

i can't believe that this car doesn't sell

Had a PPI done and the garage - Fifth Gear Automotive, Lewisville. TX said the car needed the following - so I did them!
1. New clutch, pressure plate and throwout bearing 2. New Water pump 3. New F/R rotors 4. New front pads, had set of rears with 50%+ remaining. Cayman S is ready to go to a new home! |
This thread is killing me... very nice car... if my 986 sells I might consider...tho it isn't yellow or red... :) Just curious did you replace the OEM clutch bearing with the LN upgrade?
