I would definitely ask dealer, and as mentioned post in proper forum...

That said I had a similar message after an oil change... If the 2012 is like the 986 the level it shows is actually only the top 1 quart of the 9 that the engine takes. So a totally low reading woud still be 8 qts and a full would be 9. If the car was cold and it was cold outside it could simply be that the measurement (assuming it showed low) was simply not up to temp. If it said check oil and your measurement was showing full right after, then I'd go back to dealer for sure, since not sure what that would mean.
