2001 Boxster S w/ Bad Motor
 

I have a 2001 Boxster I was in the process of selling and the motor blew up. The dealership wants a pretty big chunk of change to put in a new motor and I have been unsuccesful in locating a good used motor so ia m thinking about selling at a complete rolling frame. If anyone is interested in this please let me know and we can discuss it further.

Also, if anybody knows of a good place to get used motors please share.

Wow, that was piss poor timing on the part of that engine wasn't it? How many miles did it have on it? Any warning signs at all, or did it just HAPPEN out of the blue. (I ask as an interested party---I have an '01 S as well.)

Keep the car and put a 3.4 engine in there :D

There are several places to buy used motors. LA Porsche Dismantlers and Oklahoma Foriegn immediately come to mind. There are also a couple on ebay right now. Or...you could do like blkboxster said and use this as an opportunity to put a 3.4 out of a 996 in there. Do that and you won't want to sell it anymore.
