Off and On Track Tires

I know this topic has been beat to death. Just bought some Ruf Speedline rims

Front: 17x8 Rears: 17x9

I may see the track a couple times a year. Honestly, I only drive a the 986 on the weekends to Cars&Coffee. In the fall/winter, I might drive a few times The big question??? Should I buy track tires.

If so, would 225/40 stretch too much on the fronts. Some are saying 235/40

Then the rears 255/40

I run 225/255 on 8 and 9 inch wheels with no issue. I have dedicated track wheels and tires, so I don't burn through them with non-track driving, but that's mainly because the non-track tires are basically brand new. Plus the track tires stick better.

Also wondering about 225/45 fronts and how that changes balance?

Also, 986RennWagen, please post some pics of the Ruf wheels on your car, would love to see them!

If the car is lowered, I would avoid 235s because they will probably rub the wheel liners in turns.

GRM has a great review of 200TW tires. Seems like the endurance 200’s would be a good fit for your needs.
