Track Day Rain Tire Recommendation
 

I am headed to Barber this weekend for a PCA event. Lots of rain forecasted for Saturday. I will have two sets of wheels tires with me:

1. 1 year old set of RE71Rs that have a little less than half the tread left.
2. 1 year old set of R888Rs that have lots of tread left - only one track day of wear.

Which set should i attempt to run in the rain on Saturday?

Fortunately, Sunday is scheduled to be dry and sunny :)

Whichever tire has the most tread void (meaning grooves to funnel water out of the tire).
