Axle spacers required?

Are they needed? I’m about to pump up my front camber with gt3 arms. Looking for maybe 2 def front. Wanted to add a tad to the rear too, maybe go to 2.5 deg. Car isn’t THAT low. Maybe 110mm front and rear as measured per Porsche spec. Do I need axle spacers?

Is everybody with track camber running axle spacers?

Was avoiding buying these... but maybe I’m being too cheap.

You are probably good. I run around -3.0 in the back and I haven't ripped my CV boots or had a joint fail yet. The guys running -3.5 seem to rip boots regularly and they always have a spare half shaft around.

That being said I have a set to put on my car shortly.

I'm in the same boat... but for different reasons.

I dropped the hammer on some spacers from a 996 (without doing research) and they don't fit.

Those look nice. If I can't turn the ones I bought down I might get them.

I asked IRA at Tarett about them for my boxster that I ran -2.5 camber in back with, and my Cayman with nearly -3 in back, he said not needed on the 986/987

Are those the 996 tiptronic axle spacers? Do they not fit, I always wondered if they were a budget alternative.

Dunno yet. Seems simple enough to make them work. I have access to a lathe, so maybe not a DIY thing.

It was $45 for the pair off ebay second hand. Figured I wasn't loosing much if they don't work.

Qingdao has the smaller base axles. They might fit on an S

Well if you lathe them down they do fit a base model 5 speed... I can say with certainty now. LOL

A smart man woulda measured and then cut them down. I, on the other hand, am not a smart man. After many days of cut half a millimeter off then take the spacer home try it, then repeat the next day. I finally got it down to size. Gotta re-drill the bolt holes though.

So cheaper than the $185 kit yeah, but if you have a lathe just turn out a piece of aluminum and cut out the middle man. :D

I'm running 19mm front and 7mm rear always. and I have adjustable chamber plates as well.

I have 4mm shims in front arms, which I leave in and adjt the top plates. 7mm shims in rear for track, 2mm shims in rear for street.
