Competitive Driving Events in SoCal for 2013?

Consider the PCA Zone 8 Time Trial Series

* 9 weekend events on 7 different track configurations and a very competitive series including WSIR, Buttonwillow #1 CW, Streets CW, Streets CCW, Pomona Fairplex, Auto Club Speedway Roval, Chuckwalla CW, Chuckwalla CCW, and possibly Spring Mtn. 3.1

* Excellent Rule Set so every car and driver has a competitive class to run.

* 3 or 4 different TT run groups so you share the track with drivers of similar experience and ability.

* Tons of track time. Typically you will get over 3.5 hrs per weekend event.

* Extremely safe and well run events. PCA TT is a non-contact sport. :)

* Very attractive rates for 2013

* Free Instruction by Certified PCA National DE Instructors

Come out and play! ::: ZONE 8 - Porsche Club of America :::

Is the Auto-x in SD Nov 24th at Qualcomm a competitive event?

I guess you get a timed lap somewhere in there right?

Crikey!!!! 94 drivers signed up for this one.

Thats sounds twice as fun as the PDS :D

Guess I'll find out firsthand on the 24th.

Sure Ray. The typical PCA Zone 8 AX events feature long courses (typically 80 second laps) and 12-15 laps per event depending on attendance and daylight. Both SDR and OCR put on a great AX series with nearly 1 per month. GPX holds 2 DE/AX events that are a hybrid of continuous practice laps and single timed laps at a race track (more seat time). They share the same rule set as the TT series so once you have classed your car it is good for the season.

The DE/TT series offers faster driving on larger tracks with more seat time still. A typical TT weekend give you 3.5 hrs of seat time and often 80 laps or more so you have lots of time to work on the finer points of performance driving. I think all 4 PCA elements (PDS, AX, DE, TT) make for a performance driving program that is second to none and appeals to a wide variety of Porsche drivers that are interested in the sport of driving without committing to a full race car, roll cage, trailer, tow vehicle, rack of racing tires, racing suit etc. etc. Just bring your stock car with good tires and brakes, fresh fluids and a helmet. Good to go!

Dave, it looks like the POC will be joining forces with the PCA at the Festival of Speed next year! Should be fun.
