Driver Education and TT Pomona Fairplex Sunday Nov 18

This is a great track right in our backyard if you live in SoCal. The DE event is open to all drivers with no experience necessary. PCA National DE Instructors will be provided at no extra charge. Sign up today!

Still have the track tires on the car from last weekend at SoW...

What is the condition of the track surface? Last time I was at Pomona the "new" surface was breaking up in several places resulting in no tunnel and a new chicane on the straight after the big sweeper (running CCW). Are you guys planning on running the "standard" PCA course?

We are running "best of the quality track surface" so no tunnel until repairs are made to the playground section.

Is there a chicane or left/right/left sequence of turns after the sweeper prior to the normal fast left turn that leads down to the bus stop?

I hope not. That sucks the joy out of the big sweeper. I have been in Maui and have not seen the final layout but I believe the tunnel section is the only part left out of our usual configuration due to track surface issues there.

Ok that was pretty fun. We had rain Sat night so the first two sessions on Sunday were splash and dash Formula 1 style. :D As the track dried out it just got faster all day. The quality of the track surface is just fine running the esses instead of the tunnel. No car damage issues at all.

Side note... I have never seen so many spanking new 997 Turbo S, GT3 RS, and GT2 RS with novice drivers at one event. I spent the day instructing in a 997 GT2 RS that was 3 months old and the driver had never done any performance driving before. That car is a rocket sled! Wow!

Congrats to George Papagellis who piloted his 996 with suspension and fresh R6 Hoosiers to TTOD.
