A win by 0.015 is a win! Gotta love racing a modified Boxster S and beating modified Subies and Z06 Vettes!!

I'll be doing my first Autocross shortly, and after reading the rules I'm still unsure if having a non-OEM front tire size (on factory wheels) will bump me out of the Stock catagory. Any thoughts?

Since it's your first time, drive what you've got and don't worry at all about what class you're in. The experienced folks are gonna be faster no matter what. Just go dothe event, have fun, and start figuring things out. Once you"'ve done a few, then worry about car classes. Welcome to the sport!

Actually, I'd suggest having fun and not worrying about classing until you're somewhere near the top of whatever class you think you're in (even if its not the correct one).

You'll know when this happens because your competition will be only too happy to let you know what class you SHOULD be in!

that is impressive, the "old" 2000 Boxster S killing the 2009 Z06 and 2011 WRX.... then you see the 2004 Boxster S at the bottom, must have stopped to get some chick's number ;)

PCA yes it bumps you from Stock. SCCA no, any size tire that fits the stock wheel ( or a wheel the same dimensions +/- 6.5mm (1/4" offset from stock). I run 235s on the front my boxster that came with 225s so in PCA I'm in P14 but B stock in SCCA (or RTR in my case).

Thanks, that's the way I was reading the SCCA rules.

Once you get onto a course (AX or Track), the driver becomes a major factor in the overall performance. A good driver in a lesser car can easily smack down a beginner (or someone who just isn't very aggressive) in a much more capable car.

Nonetheless, a win is a win and its fun to see the look on the face of the drivers of much more powerful cars when they "lose" to a lowly early year Boxster.

Like they say "are you sure they were racing?". Yes they were, at least the other driver was trying to race. Whether the driver pushed the vehicle to its limits is up to the driver, but the answer is still yes, they were racing
