Anyone make a GT3 Cup style rear spoiler for the Boxster?

Title has it all really :) In a never ending attempt to improve the Boxster racing car I am looking at every possible and sometimes stupid options.

One thing I want to do is improve down-force on the car, but can not find anyone that makes a proper rear spoiler/wing to fit the Boxster. All I can find is stuff for street cars for "the look" - I am after function not look...

Any Boxster racing friends here that have found a company that makes a functioning rear wing that will fit the 986 Boxster???

I have no idea where he got it from, heck he might have even made it himself, but kcpaz has been doing a Subaru STi engine conversion project on a Boxster track car, and he has one hell of a spoiler going on out back. If you go a few pages in the pictures will start to show, and you'll see the spoiler he has (it's pretty extreme). I'd contact him to see where he got his.

Here's the thread:

Kent made the uprights and the wing is a generic "store bought" piece.

I used to collect the broken GT3Cup/RSR wings from teams we raced with, but I'm out of them. I would have them repaired and utilize them on club race cars.

The issue is: you have to balance the front with something :)

I like the idea to try and use a GT3 Cup one, but they are quite expensive!

Agree 100% that I will have to balance it with something at the front as well - but thought it was easier to figure out the front once I had the rear sorted out... I keep looking on e-bay for a used 996 Cup front bumper.

You could go with one of those GT3-style bumpers that some people have used on their Boxsters. From what I understand it's not just for looks (though that's usually why people buy them) and actually will provide some additional downforce to the front end.

I'm not sure how much those cup bumpers run new or used, but depending on how much it is, there's always the AeroKit. Not exactly the kind of dressing one should be using for a dedicated track car, but again, known to actually improve the car's downforce and not meant to be used without a permanent spoiler out back.

Hope this helps a bit. Cheap and adjustable!

GT1 REAR SPOILER

Have a look here:

GT-racing has rear wing options under $800, and either their GT3R or early 996 Turbo front bumpers would be easy to add a splitter to. I've got the regular GT3 front bumper...it adds some front downforce, but a splitter would be better. Adding a splitter to this one would be tricky.
