Tranny Repair! What's the Latest?

OK, I've raced my 2000 Boxster S trans since 2004. All original except a light weight flywheel and Guards Transmission LSD. It is mated to a 3.6L '05 996 motor. We are pulling the box out and replacing the pressure plate and clutch. While it's out, I'm looking for ideas and info regarding any options for changing gear sets or Ring and Pinion while its out. The car is a dedicated race car. Not street Legal.

Has anyone made these changes? Who did they buy from? Was it noticeable on track?

Any input or ideas would be welcomed.

Still looking for info? I missed this post.

Brad,
Not really, we have the trans apart and are replacing all the scincros and pinion bearings. Everything looked good and it was very reliable so we aren't changing things, ie ring/pinion or gear ratios.

I might have posted pics a few weeks ago.

I'm finding a lot of worn out bushings where the shift lever passes into the case. First thing that occurs: the seal starts leaking, its not because the seal is bad, its because the bronze bushing is worn out!! Porsche makes you buy the entire tail cover.. we machined it out and installed a larger bushing!

Blue2000S,
I agree and that's why I snapped the pic and posted it!

Brad,
We too have some shift linkage wear that the shop is working on.

Will you run the PCA Sebring event this year? Or do you stick with the PBOC?
